What is MCP server?

In short:An MCP server is a program that exposes tools, resources or prompts to agents over the Model Context Protocol. It is often a thin wrapper around an existing API. Every MCP server is a door into a system, so each needs an owner, an authorization model and an entry in a registry.

How does it work?

The server advertises its tools and accepts calls. Under MCP authorization, it acts as an OAuth resource server.

What does it look like in practice?

NewCore keeps an MCP server connection registry with endpoint, owner and environment.
