What is agent identity?
In short:An agent identity is a distinct, registered identity for one AI agent, separate from the person who runs it and from shared service accounts. It lets systems know which agent is acting, who owns it, what it may reach and when its access should end.
How does it work?
The agent is registered in a directory or identity graph and given an identifier. Credentials are issued to that identifier, and every action is logged against it.
What does it look like in practice?
A support agent gets its own identity with a named owner, rather than borrowing the API key of the engineer who built it.
